Hi,
I have clonal trials where I have summed the individual surviving tree data to get stand (per ha) productivity values. Some plots are a mixture of genotypes so I have have calculated the contribution of each genotype (say 10) to each plot. In Stand-alone ASReml used
Genotype !G 10
to read in the fractional contribution of each genotype to each plot, and then fitted Genotype (without pedigree) in the model.
It works well.
However, now I would like to extend it to mixed family plots and fit the pedigree as well.
I could extend the same logic and have fractional columns for the parents in each plot. If I extend the list of parents to all in the pedigree, then I may be able to merge the parent information with the background pedigree (although if it is a deep pedigree, then I will have many empty columns as those (grand-) parents are not directly in the data.)
Parent !P !G 1000
Will that work?
Is there another way to approach the problem?
Greg
